The 2012 Tony Awards opened with a blast from the past -- 2011 best musical winner and reliable crowd-pleaser "The Book of Mormon." The show began with a group of Mormon Elders going door to door -- calling on Ricky Martin, Matthew Broderick, Cynthia Nixon, James Earl Jones and Judith Light -- and moving into their introductory song "Hello."
The show's original stars, Andrew Rannells and Josh Gad, were sadly absent (Gad gave his final performance last Wednesday, and Rannells' was today), but a darker-haired Neil Patrick Harris stepped in to lead the show.
